It all began when we (Molly and Paige) became studio-mates in 2024. We shared a small creative space while dreaming big. Combining our sewing skills, passion and vision with the Maek community-centered model, Gather became a reality! Gather Sewing Collective is a collaborative effort, born from a shared longing for more communal space to create.
While sewing is a practice that has largely become solitary, these skills have been passed down through family members and communities over generations. Opening this gathering space for skills to be taught, shared and exercised is our way of honoring those who have kept this artform alive amidst a culture dominated by fast fashion and industrialism. At our core, we are intentional makers and perpetual learners. If you are interested in intentional making, you are welcome here. We hope you’ll come sew with us - it is you who will truly define who and what Gather becomes.
Molly + Paige

Molly is one of the creators of Gather and a natural textile aficionado. Guided by her insatiable curiosity and love for wool, she carved out a life becoming a sewing instructor, professional sheep shearer, and community organizer. She sews sloooooow and hopes that her passion for truly sustainable crafting can change the world.

Paige is a co-creator of Gather. She is a perennial student and long time teacher of crafts. She is a knitter, dye artist, PDF patternmaker, and loves all things textile arts! She believes in mindful making, beautiful construction, and telling better stories through the language of fabric.
